Search for a local service on your phone and look at what you actually read. Usually it is not a website at all. It is the business profile: the name, the rating, the opening hours, a few photos, the button to call or get directions. For a lot of customers, the decision happens right there.

That makes the profile one of the most important pages a local business has, and one of the most neglected. Here is a practical checklist, written from the customer's side of the screen.

The basics customers check first

  • Opening hours that are right today, including holidays. Wrong hours lose trust faster than almost anything else.
  • A phone number that is answered, and a website link that goes to the most relevant page, not just the homepage.
  • The correct category, so you appear for what people actually search for.
  • An address or service area that matches where you really work.

Proof that answers doubt

  • Recent photos that show what the customer will actually experience: the place, the people, the work. Not only the logo.
  • Reviews answered, good and bad, in a calm and specific voice. Customers read the replies as closely as the reviews.
  • A short description that says who you help and what makes you different, in plain words.

Answer the questions before they are asked

Look at the questions customers ask you on the phone, by email or on WhatsApp. The most common ones belong on the profile: in the description, in posts, in the products or services section. Every question answered there is one less reason to leave and check another business.

Make it a habit, not a project

  • Check the hours and contact details at the start of every month.
  • Add a few new photos whenever something changes.
  • Reply to new reviews within a few days.
  • Search for your main service as a customer would, now and then, and see how you compare with the businesses around you.

None of this is complicated, but it is easy to forget. The businesses that do it consistently look open, cared for and trustworthy at exactly the moment a customer is deciding. That is the whole point.
